Lucy Shea is the CEO of Futerra – the change agency. Futerra puts together the logic of sustainability with the magic of creativity to help leading brands and large foundations create major change. She joined the company in 2003 and has grown the business from a start-up of five people to a global agency with growing teams in London, New York and Stockholm. Futerra is majority female owned and run, and is a proud B-Corp.
A firm believer in the power of business to create change, Shea advises Fortune 500 companies on how to unlock the value of sustainability for their business and brand. Shea’s particular expertise is where the business of fashion and sustainability intersect. Futerra’s clients include C&A Foundation, Bulgari, Econyl, Fast Retailing, GEOX, Kering, PVH, Tommy Hilfiger and VF Corp.
Shea has extensive experience in persuading people to take up sustainable lifestyles. She was a founding member of the UN’s Sustainable Lifestyles Taskforce in 2005, when she authored Communicating Sustainability, one of the UN’s most read reports. In 2014, she joined the Global Organising Committee of Fashion Revolution. This core team leads the worldwide movement that calls for greater transparency within the fashion industry and reaches millions of people every year on the anniversary of Rana Plaza.
