Kerry Bannigan is a social impact event creator, producer and entrepreneur curating global events and initiatives that advocate sustainable development.

Bannigan is the Founder of the Conscious Fashion Campaign, in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships, engaging leading global industry event stakeholders to commit to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

A founding member of the SDG Media Zone in 2016, Bannigan todays serves as the Executive Producer in partnership with the United Nations Department of Global Communications and the PVBLIC Foundation. Bannigan has curated events at the SDG Media Zone during the United Nations General Assembly for Google, Microsoft, Colgate, ATT, CNN, WWF, HSBC, Swarovski, March for Science, United Nations Development Programme and United Nations Global Compact.

With an accomplished portfolio of pioneering events in fashion, retail and media Bannigan has led government activations to spearhead economic development with the UK, USA, Italy, Spain, Morocco and Germany; including the Fashion is GREAT Istanbul campaign in partnership with the British Embassy, Harvey Nichols and UK Trade and Investment. Her key industry insight has advised It’s On US launched by Barack Obama and Joe Biden, Global Citizen, smartwater + Michelle Obama’s Drink Up Campaign, G8 Young Leaders Summit and New York Global Leaders Dialogue.

Her innovative vision to cultivate creative entrepreneurship began in 2007 when she co-founded Nolcha Shows, New York Fashion Week’s leading showcase of independent fashion designers. The groundbreaking event curated fashion activations for notable global brands including ASOS, Aveda, American Airlines, Firetrap, New York Stock Exchange, Paul Mitchell and Pretty Green; as well as implemented government fashion partnerships to boost trade and investment for the Czech Republic, Kenya, Malta, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

In 2009 Bannigan developed Independent Retail Week, a city-wide fashion shopping event to stimulate the local economy, forging public-private partnerships with Mayor’s offices, Chambers of Commerce and Tourism Boards in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and New Jersey. In 2011 the event expanded into Independent Retailer Month marking July as an annual celebration in USA, UK and Canada. That same year Bannigan co-founded the Independent Retailer Conference and since has been held in Chicago, New York, California and Las Vegas. Today it is recognized as one of the top 8 retail conferences to attend delivering business education from industry leaders including Amazon, Constant Contact, eBay, Shark Tank, Square, Shopify, Twitter and Yelp.

Today Bannigan champions the intersection of events and fashion as influential forces for global good and as key shapers of our sustainable future. She facilitates global engagement of industry stakeholders to drive awareness, partnerships and action for sustainable development.
