LWARB , Head of Communications
As the head of communications at LWARB, Ali leads on all corporate communications and behaviour change campaigns for the organisation with the goal of making London a world-leading low carbon circular city. She is the organisational lead for textiles and fashion, with particular expertise around changing fast fashion behaviours among younger Londoners, partnering with fashion and lifestyle brands including Top Shop, Westfield, Contiki and Depop on #LoveNotLandfill. Ali also co-hosts The Circular Economy Playbook podcast. She and her team provide communications support and consultancy to London’s boroughs and run the London Recycles and Small Change, Big Difference campaigns which talk to London’s citizens; they also deliver a busy events and media programme for the work that LWARB does with businesses and policy-makers, and direct research and gather insights on behaviours relating to waste, recycling and sustainable consumption. With over 25 years’ experience of brand development, marketing and communications across the corporate, commercial and public sectors, Ali has previously worked for organisations as diverse as Reuters, Lloyds Bank, The Post Office, Transport for London, a range of small locally-based charities and WRAP.
